The #1 problem on VDO speedometers other than the original Odometer gears was the the poor manufacturing of the original circuit board that drives the speedometer pointer and the odometer stepper motor. The circuit board traces are prone to corrosion that breaks the traces and leads to speedometer failure that new gears don’t fix, another problem with speedometers of this era are capacitors that fail with age, but due to the weak construction of the board they are soldered to, some speedometers are unrepairable, until now.
This board is made with modern manufacturing with properly made tin plated traces that wont fail and all new capacitors, diodes, zeners, and resistors. Even the main microchip specifically made for this speedometer is a new NOS chip never installed before. A special feature this board has is one of the resistors is replaced with a potentiometer that allows us to fine tune the calibration of the board to the speedometer movement better than original.
This part does require the customer to send in a speedometer to install and calibrate the new board
